Survey to identify good examples on the effective use of AI in education and training

jzaraik

Background:

Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming education, reshaping how students learn, teachers instruct, and institutions manage resources. Across the EU, AI is being more and more integrated into the classrooms for tasks such as personalised tutoring, automated assessment, and administrative efficiency. However, the adoption of AI in education varies significantly between countries, level of education and institutions.

To bridge these gaps, the European Commission is identifying effective AI practices in education and the support mechanisms available at the national and regional levels. In this context, the survey is designed to collect real-world insights from those actively using or interacting with AI in education.

The information you provide will help:

  • Identify good practices in AI use that enhance teaching, learning and administration

  • Understand challenges and barriers to AI adoption in education

The survey can be accessed via this link and will stay open until 28 March, 2025.

This activity takes place in the context of the Digital Education Action Plan 2021-2027, which puts forward Artificial Intelligence as one of its activities (Action 6). This survey is based on the Ethical Guidelines on the use of artificial intelligence and data in teaching and learning for educators that were published in October 2022.

By providing those precious insights, you contribute to shaping policies that better align AI advancements with educational needs across Europe.

Target groups:

The survey aims to reach out to stakeholders who may not be captured in existing reports or databases, gather new insights on innovative or smaller scale AI implementations, and address specific gaps identified during the desk research through targeted dissemination.

It mostly addresses teachers, leaders of administrative staff in education and training institutions, and investigates the purpose for which AI tools/practices are being used or implemented, the impact they are having, the challenges faced and what type of funding support is given.

The survey is anonymous, however respondents who wish can share they email address in case the contractor wants to further contact them for more selected interviews.
